Happy June! And a JOYFUL one at that! I know it’s been a while! Sometimes life just gets a bit hectic. And chaotic. And crazy. And we just don’t feel ourselves and things just feel a bit offish…I’m sure many of you can resonate? Especially during these tough times.. and yet it almost feels like we’re not given the space or permission to just be honest and say, “Do you know what…?? I had a really HARD day!” Or I had a really crappy or shitty or just not so great day as opposed to saying it was challenging, or trying or those little euphemisms we’ve been conditioned to use in life!
Either way, we don’t want to appear as negative complainers, but I have indeed come to embrace the need to feel the feels as such and as for someone like me who is the eternal optimist always looking at life with a half-glass full attitude, it’s become a bit easier of late to embrace these darker, more harder times in our lives… So I encourage you to join me doing this while still doing the best you can..
And what better way than the theme of Joyful June! I have followed the “Action for Happiness” organisation for a few years now and love their outlook towards taking action to creating a happier and kinder world. Every month, they launch a Happiness calendar with a theme for the month. This month of Joyful June reminds us to look for the good in each day. As often hear, and as I’ve shared above, not every day is a good day, but there is certainly something GOOD in EVERY day!
What good happened to you today? What is the good that you can look out for EVERY DAY? I invite and encourage you to do this every day this month with me! Let’s work towards making the world a better, happier, kinder and more joyful place. Together!
